Elegance. Grace. Class and Italian Craftsmanship…Welcome to the world of Valentino!

The fashion house of Valentino was founded in 1960 by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti. The first fragrance was launched in 1978 and embodies the chic lifestyle and values of the Italian lady of leisure. Read on to discover the stories behind two of Valentino’s leading lady fragrances!

MY VOICE. MY STRENGTH. INTRODUCING VOCE VIVA.

Voce Viva is the lush kind of fragrance that will make your heart sing. With a name which literally means “The voice is alive”, the fragrance features warm floral notes and is designed to celebrate every woman’s voice. It is fronted by one remarkable woman whose voice and persona is iconic in every respect - the one and only Lady Gaga. Famous for her bold image, artistry and versatility, in 2019 Lady Gaga was the first woman to win an Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Grammy award in one year, for her work on the film and soundtrack of “A Star Is Born”. Now that’s what we call artistic excellence!

But It’s not only artistic excellence and Italian origins which unite Lady Gaga (born Stefani Germanotta) and Valentino. The fragrance campaign, which was directed by Valentino’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, is all about using one’s voice to project confidence and drive change. Having launched the Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit which aims to support the mental health of young people in 2012, Lady Gaga champions kindness and celebrating your individuality.

EXPLORING A RADIANT SYMPHONY

A floral woody musk, the fragrance is described as an ode to the femininity of Valentino. The story begins with harmonious notes of Couture Orange Blossom Absolute, Golden Gardenia, Sparkling Italian Bergamot, Mandarin and Ginger Essences. It concludes with base notes of Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Musk, Sandalwood and Oak Moss.

The fragrance’s bottle features rockstud detail on the cap. The symbolism of a V in the bottle design creates the impression of light shining through the scent.

BORN IN ROMA - “THE DREAM THAT NEVER DIES”

As the sun advances across the cityscape of Rome, memories of the night become a new beginning. Valentino Donna Born In Roma Yellow Dream is the new fragrance for her inspired by the beauty of Italy’s capital city - where energy abounds and couture often finds itself bathed in the yellow light of day!

Yellow is a colour which pulses with optimism - as one of Roma’s emblematic colours, alongside red, it embodies the upbeat energy of the city. Born In Roma Yellow Dream celebrates the colour yellow as a scent as well as the city of Roma, where Valentino was founded.

THE CAMPAIGN

Day reaches the Palazzo gardens. The steadfast gaze of Adut Akech and Anwar Hadid speaks to the power of their dreams. Is Adut Akech wearing Valentino Haute Couture from last night or is she getting ready for the dawn of a new day? Immersed in the energy of Italy’s capital, their Roma story is eternal.

A DREAM BECOMES REALITY

Born In Roma Yellow Dream Donna is the sister fragrance of 2019’s Amber Floral Donna Born In Roma.

Yellow Dream Donna begins by awakening the senses with bergamot essence. Hand-harvested in Calabria, south of Italy, bergamot is accompanied by fizzing, zesty notes of Italy's primofiore lemon and gourmand, juicy lychee. This celebration of colour from the fragrance’s very top notes highlights the energy and joie de vivre of the modern Valentino woman.

This joie de vivre is further enhanced by the tender freshness of Peony Flowers and Turkish Rose Essence. The fragrance closes with a White Musk Accord - featuring the addictive signature of a creamy spicy Madagascan Vanilla Absolute with vibrant Virginia Cedarwood.

With a bottle designed with delicate Valentino rockstuds, tribute is paid to the architecture of Roma - a signature touch of Valentino Couture!
