Bal a Versailles by Jean Desprez is an amber fragrance for women. Bal a Versailles was launched in 1962. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean Desprez. Top notes are rosemary, orange blossom, mandarin orange, cassia, jasmine, rose, neroli, bergamot, Bulgarian rose and lemon; middle notes are sandalwood, patchouli, lilac, orris root, vetiver, ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley; base notes are tolu balsam, amber, musk, benzoin, civet, vanilla, cedar and resins.

Clearly a modern reformulation of a vintage perfume that is essentially weak, with poor sillage and longevity of about 30 minutes. Waste of money.

What a sensual fragrance! Lasts more than 24 hours and then clings longer to your clothes. Excellent sillage. It's a strip tease that changes slowly from one layer to the next. It's the kind of odour you expect after having sex for a few hours while wearing a floral perfume. Wear after hours as not office safe. Love it â¤ï¸
