It's a dry one, and coming from a kohl eyeliner, as I have, a little harder to apply, but it doesn't smudge or budge with tears or oils off my eyelids. I bought onyx because I have black eyelashes, and this is a really deep, true black. I love the little brush that comes with it, although I don't think it's very travel friendly because the little pot that contains the eyeliner doesn't screw on very tightly. This is only my 2nd foray into Jane Iredale and so far I'm very impressed.

Jane iredale is a very good product and easy to use.
