Flowerbomb is one of those fragrances I kept spotting but hadn't ever tried (I know, pretty shocking when you consider my day job!) Fragrances have a habit of getting into my head and whispering "try me, try me" and Flowerbomb finally did that when I spotted it yet again on our bestseller list - time to get my hands on a sample...

I'm not sure what I was expecting to be honest. Surely the clue's in the title (it's going to be horribly floral!) but the overwhelming sugary sweetness was a huge surprise. Yes the floral notes are there but wow it's so sweet and sugary!! I'm a fan of Prada Candy and although they're not the same, there's a definite hint of Candy's caramel and vanilla notes.
Orchid, rose and vanillaare the strongest notes for me, but that lovely sugar kick is the most noticeable part of the scent. Flowerbomb is a very lovely perfume and not at all the flowery-maiden-aunt-fragrance I was guessing. It's not overwhelming either. It is strong on the first spray but has a soft, powdery dry-down (on my skin) which I really loved. It's also a rather grown-up scent; if you waft past someone wearing this you'll think it a) cost quite a lot and b) they mean business.
Flowerbomb is a statement perfume, the one I'd wear if I had an interview or important meeting. But it's also a lovely, soft, feminine scent that I'd wear for lunch with friends. Let's face it, it's a multi-tasker and that's always a winner for me! I wouldn't shy away from gifting Flowerbomb either though I'd stick to the over 25s.
