What is Metal Detox?
Metal Detox is a revolutionary treatment specifically designed for anyone that colours their hair. Metal Detox not only protects the hair from damage during the colouration service, it also guarantees even and radiant colour results with maximum shine. It is a three-step protocol that starts before your colour is applied and is continued at home with an indulgent home care regime.
Why do I need Metal Detox?
The water that you use to wash your hair can often contain minerals, calcium deposits and chlorine… And it’s the minerals, deposits and chlorine contained within water that can make your colour fade faster and cause build up, ultimately making your hair look and feel dry. These deposits can also have an impact on colour, creating dull colour tone, rough cuticles and sometimes even a green tinge to the hair.
Wash after wash, metal particles can accumulate in your hair. This can create a risk of breakage and can also have a negative impact on colour results. L'Oréal Professionnel teamed up with the worldwide authority on metal, Ioannina University, to find a molecule that could trap and neutralise metal within the hair fibre. This molecule, Glicoamine, is designed to neutralise the metal in your hair before a colour service, detox your hair after the service, and then prevent future particles from penetrating the hair fibre.
Incorporating the Metal Detox system into your colour service and homecare routine can help to reduce breakage by up to 87%. Expect shinier and brighter colour results, including UV protection with hair that is left to look flawless from root to tip.
How do I use it?
Metal Detox starts in the salon with the Pre Colour Neutralising Spray.The routine can then be continued at home using the Metal Detox Anti-Metal Cleansing Cream Shampoo. This sulphate-free shampoo helps to effectively cleanse the hair and scalp, working to wash away the water-induced copper deposits that can affect the hair’s vibrancy. To use, apply a small amount evenly to wet hair, lather and rinse. Next, apply the anti-deposit protector to protect your hair from excess copper coming from water and leave for up to one minute. You can use this range once a week in alternation with your existing SERIE EXPERT range as Metal Detox is designed for all hair types.
