On the hunt for a look that doesn’t seem like it requires a professional MUA? These easy Halloween makeup ideas are perfect for maximum wow and minimum effort. Whether you’re going for cute, gory or a mix of the two – these five spooktacular (sorry) looks have got you covered.

Psst…don’t forget to stock up on a seriously good makeup remover. This Babor Cleansing Eye & Heavy Makeup Remover is packed with natural oils.

Barbie Halloween Makeup

The movie of the year is sure to be a favourite outfit choice this year – and the more Barbies, the better! Start with Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for a semi-matte base that won’t budge. Then grab Shiseido POP Powder Gel Eyeshadow in the shade Fuwa-Fuwa Peach for Barbie’s signature pink eye look – applying it to the upper half of your lids. Next, you’ll need a pop of blue to sit on the lower half of your eyelids (and under the eye too) and the Sisley Phyto-Eye Twist in shade Marine has a lovely sparkly finish.

No Barbie is complete without a winged liner and Clarins Graphik Ink Liner has a felt tip for perfect precision. Once you’ve curled your lashes (we recommend this best-selling Tweezerman Lashes Classic Lash Curler), you’ll just need a lick of mascara – and the Benefit Badgal BANG Volumizing Waterproof Mascara will give your lashes some extra lift.

Don’t forget to add some powder pink blush and glossy lips. This Benefit WANDERful World Blush Mini Dandelion in Baby Pink and Stila Pink Harmony Liquid Lipstick & Lipgloss Set make the perfect pair.

Halloween eyeliner

Going for subtle chic this year? All you need is a really good eyeliner. We recommend Shiseido Archliner Ink in shade Shibui Black – with its precise, angled tip it’s perfect for turning your flick into a spider’s web that sweeps across your cheek.

Add some orangey eyeshadow shades to your lids from this Technic Wow Factor Remastered palette for a little extra pumpkin-inspired drama.

Wednesday Addams Halloween Makeup

Once you’ve parted your hair and nailed those signature plaits, you’ll need a suitably pale base. Try picking the lightest shade of concealer you can find and blending it out – we recommend Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer for a long-lasting finish that’ll stay in place.

Next, the eyes – and the Technic Wow Factor Remastered palette is perfect for the job. Blend shades of black and purple across your eyelids and underneath your eyes, then finish them off with a lick of Guerlain C’ils Denfer So Volume Intense Mascara.

Finally, you’ll need a deep purple lipstick and this M.A.C Matte Lipstick in shade Smoked Purple couldn’t be better. A few drops of fake blood wouldn’t hurt, either.

Euphoria Halloween Makeup

Taking inspiration from Euphoria’s Jules, this angelic take on Halloween is easy, effective and really quite glam.

Starting with the eyes, you’ll need a pinky red as your base to blend outwards. This Shiseido POP Powder Gel Eyeshadow in the shade Fuwa-Fuwa Peach is highly-pigmented with a silky finish.

Next, you’ll need a whole lot of shimmer. Try dotting this ByTerry Ombre Blackstar Color-Fix Cream Eye Shadow in shade Bronze Moon around your eyes – then finish with lots of gold glitter across your eyes and eyebrows.

Cat Halloween Makeup

Keep it classic with everyone’s favourite go-to: kitty cats. Grab yourself a black liner – this Clarins Graphik Ink Liner has a thicker felt tip for drawing on your sweeping eye flicks, whiskers and nose. Then add some lighter, shimmery highlights to the inner corners of your eye with Sisley Les Phyto-Ombres in shade Silky Cream.

Don’t forget to add lots (and lots) mascara, this Bobbi Brown No Smudge Waterproof Mascara is buildable – so you can layer up those lashes.
