Did you know that allbeauty has developed a skincare range? Read on for the lowdown on the innovative ingredients at the heart of the range.

Following the launch of the new, nature-inspired At1 skincare range, it’s time to get familiar with a few names that you may not be familiar with. Combining innovation with ancient remedies, At1 is bringing some of Mother Nature’s best-kept secrets into your daily skincare regime. These unique extracts may not be household names yet, but you’ll soon wonder how you ever managed without them.

Renewable, natural and incredibly beneficial to your skin, meet the hero ingredients of the At1 skincare range.

Horse Chestnut

Yes, it turns out that those conkers you played with as a child were hiding a secret superpower. Extracted from the Horse Chestnut, aescin (or escin) is an anti-inflammatory compound that makes a soothing soap that softens and calms the skin. Aescin also contains a potent antioxidant that reduces the breakdown of hyaluronic acid in the skin and helps to stabilise collagen and elastin. So, instead of simply adding beneficial ingredients to your skin, Horse Chestnut Extract prevents them from depleting in the first place.

Together, these elements allow Horse Chestnut Extract to provide gentle soothing, moisturising and anti-irritant properties on the skin.

Experience it for yourself in At1 Restorative Eye Serum.

Cottonseed Oil

A renewable, sustainable skincare ingredient, Cottonseed Oil is harvested as a byproduct of cotton farming and is used in beauty for its softening and protective properties. Rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, both of which have been demonstrated to help skin retain moisture, Cottonseed Oil is excellent for all skin types.

Also found in Cottonseed Oil is Linoleic acid, a fatty acid that is particularly beneficial for dry and sensitive skin as it strengthens the skin's barrier and soothes redness and irritation. Linoleic acid is also an antioxidant, countering the effects of free radicals, which contribute to premature ageing.

Thanks to its molecular weight, the oil creates a lightweight coating over cells, and with its high vitamin E content, protects against irritation and the elements.

Kakadu Plum Extract

The Kakadu Plum, also known as Gurumal or Murunga, is a small fruit native to Australia that is rich in nutrients and contains the highest vitamin C content of any botanical. With 100 times more vitamin C than oranges, Kakadu Plum is a powerhouse against the signs of ageing.

Vitamin C plays a vital role in the production of collagen, plumping the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also improves the level of elasticity which gives a further smoothing effect.

While Vitamin C is often featured in a range of skincare products, the key to experiencing the best results is to use it in serum form, as the smaller molecules are better able to penetrate deep within the skin’s layers.

Experience the remarkable anti-ageing properties of Kakadu Plum in At1 Luminating Anti-Ageing Serum.

Lentil Seed Extract

Lentils may be a rather dull cupboard staple, but they’re about to change the way you look at legumes. The hero ingredient in At1 Hydrating Toning Mist, Lentil Seed Extract, is distilled from the fruit of the humble lentil. It contains a large amount of Vitamin B5, which conditions and protects the skin and is an antioxidant with anti-ageing properties.

As a humectant, Lentil Seed Extract absorbs moisture from the environment, hydrating the uppermost layers of skin while also providing a protective coating to shield against environmental damage. Together, the properties of Lentil Seed Extract keep the skin soft and hydrated while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Try At1 Hydrating Toning Mist to experience the power of lentils for yourself.

Indian Gentian

The Swertia Chirata plant, or Indian Gentian, grows in the Himalayas and is used medicinally to aid the liver and digestive system. In skincare, an extract of Indian Gentian has been found to regenerate skin cells while strengthening and fortifying the dermis.

Through its impact at a cellular level, Indian Gentian thickens the skin’s surface, making it less susceptible to environmental damage and better able to guard against free radicals. This thickening of the skin also reduces wrinkles, making it particularly beneficial on the thinnest skin around the eyes and mouth, where the signs of ageing are at their most prominent.

If you struggle with dark circles and fine lines, At1 Restore & Boost Night Cream is a must.

Kelp/Active Algae

With high iodine, vitamin and mineral content, as well as anti-irritant properties, algae makes a wonderful ingredient in any skincare range. Extracted from giant kelp, SeaStem is a unique compound that retains algae’s regenerative and protective properties. In At1 Hydrate & Nourish Day Cream, SeaStem counteracts the harmful effects of pollution and encourages the skin to replace and repair damaged cells while keeping free radicals at bay.

At1 Restore and Boost Night Cream contains Ambre Ocean, an extract of Pelvetia canaliculata. Highly effective at fighting the signs of ageing, it increases the amount of hyaluronic acid and collagen available to the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
