In a great year for new women’s fragrance (Jimmy Choo Blossom, Gucci Bamboo, Marc Jacobs Decadence), there’s still only one that stands out: Paco Rabanne’s Olympéa. Welcome to the allbeauty.com review of this gorgeous new release.

“The fragrance of a modern day Goddess” - Paco Rabanne

Paco Rabanne Olympea Review - The Key Ingredients: opening with fresh green mandarin, water jasmine and fiery ginger flower, Olympéa has a heart of gorgeous salted vanilla with a base of sandalwood and ambergris.

The Publicity: Brazilian model Luma Grothe is dressed as a Greek Goddess, the embodiment of beauty, strength and femininity, with the bottle itself flanked by male gods. With imagery like this you know it’s something special! Watch the official Olympéa ad below to see what we mean…

What Does Olympéa Actually Smell Like?

Let’s translate: Olympéa is soft, feminine and faintly fruity-floral with a ‘powdery’ effect. Understated, elegant and feel-good, put simply it’s an instant hit with everyone who tries it. It’s fresh, it’s warm, it’s beautiful.

The Packaging: Baby-pink boxes with white imagery and rose-gold lettering. Round glass bottles with rose-gold olive leaves and diamond-like stoppers.

Great For…? This is your new go-to perfume for work, weekends and holidays. It’s the scent you’ll always choose as a gift because you simply can’t go wrong (that’s Christmas sorted) and the one you’ll spray every time you pass just to experience that “mmm” moment. It isn’t a scent that announces your entrance into a room, this is a “mmm you smell wonderful” fragrance.

The Price? You can buy Paco Rabanne Olympéa at online perfume shop allbeauty.com in both Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette, starting at £38.95 (correct as of October 2015). Matching shower gel, body lotion and gift sets are also available, so for a budget option go for one of these.

**Our Tip **Take it with you in a Travalo Atomiser for a quick top-up - if you’re gifting, Classic Excel Gold matches the Olympéa packaging best.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • Paco Rabanne designed the costumes for the 1968 film classic Barbarella.
  • Don’t we mean Olympia? Nope! Olympéa was originally called Olympia but was renamed to avoid confusion with a certain sporting event.
